Back at the end of June, Broadway Lodge shared a story about a family from West Wales that was set to embark on a charitable adventure in memory of Sandra Lickley, who sadly passed away after a long battle with addiction.
Sharon Williams lost her wonderful sister Sandra on 5th July 2016 after a long time battling the illness. Sandra passed through the doors of Broadway Lodge and spent some time here working on her addiction, and Sharon is grateful to Broadway Lodge for giving Sandra another three years of life, which she spent with her sister.
So, on 5th July 2017, one year after Sandra’s passing, Sharon and her family decided to create their own charitable expedition to show their gratitude for the care we provided, and to raise funds for Broadway Lodge to help other people in the same position her sister was in.
After completing the long walk of Pen y Fan, Sharon said this:
It was nice to be together on the anniversary of Sandra’s death. As the eldest sister, she would be so proud of us all. We reminisced that day which was sad but lovely.
Sally Anne, who is Sandra’s daughter, texted me after and said it was such a lovely thing to do and to spend time and see everyone and thanked me very much.
The youngest member of the group was 15-year-old Alisha, Sandra’s great niece. Sandra adored Alisha. Alisha put her own message up on Facebook to say how she was the kindest nicest person she’d ever known and how much she still misses and loves her.We all did it for her; she was so good to everyone.

Sharon and her family also managed to raise over £1,700 for Broadway Lodge, which is truly fantastic. Well done and congratulations to you all, and thank you ever so much for your support.
